sushi, hand washing and sundays

My super yummy, and fully cooked, sushi from girls night.

Thursday night my girlfriend, who’s hubby also happens to have take these awesome family photos for us, Gaby and I made it out for some girly time. We met up at this great new sushi find over in Castro Valley and had a blast chatting away and eating the tasty food. They had quite the assortment of ‘well done’ rolls, so I was able to find one that was fully cooked and just my style. I wasn’t so sure if my super sniffer and slightly off palate could handle the fishy-ness, but I am happy to say that I handled it like a pro. Hooray! I do believe I see the light at the end of this morning sickness blah.

On Friday, we were able to all three attend the funeral for a man whom Eric has know since he was two and who is also my very good friend’s father. It was a very heartfelt service and the spirit was very strong there. I know I was crying through more than half of it because of the very strong spiritual presence. Hearing stories about his last few years was very inspiring his conversion story was truly amazing. Those are the types of things we don’t really get to see on the day to day but are so amazing to hear all the little bits and pieces of.

We spent the rest of our Friday afternoon attempting to nap with a super active Quinn tornado running around us, visiting with Auntie in the hospital and then visiting with Auntie TeTe at her house. She was watching Under the Tuscan Sun, a personal favorite, so we just had to stay and finish it with her. She put on UP in the other room for the Q dude and he stayed perfectly happy watching the ‘woof woof’ and the ‘rawr’ (the evil dogs? kevin?) on TeTe’s bed.

On Saturday we made a Costco run and a stop at the ‘wee’ aka the neighbors front yard for some much needed outdoor play time. Quinn decided to ‘find’ a bag of Doritos and eat about half of it. I still have no clue where he pulled that bag from, and it was still fresh! We worked on his hand washing after that adventure, which turned into more of splash time in the sink, but whatever.

I received a phone call from the Stake President’s Secretary… dun dun dun and we were asked to come in for a chat on Sunday morning at 8:40am. Church doesn’t start until 12:30, so any chance of sleeping in we may have had just flew out the window. Plus, a meeting with the Steak President???? What the what?

  Cheese ball

Quinn didn’t mind so much getting ready early for church. We could tell he was a bit confused however when we walked out of the church building the first time without letting him go to nursery and play with all his buds. I blame that confusion for the no napping business he pulled on us and the little monster routine he played during sacrament meeting. Fun times.

In related news – After our morning meeting I got all comfy cozy
at home in my Sunday dress and slippers that I didn’t even realize
I was still wearing my slippers when we finally made it to church that afternoon.
Yup, that’s right, I went all three hours in my slippers.
Thanks everyone for not mentioning it, I was thoroughly embarrassed as it was.

 Happy Monday!

 What was your weekend like?
