lets chat about chatter

Eat. Play. Sleep. Awesome Bed Head. Repeat. #photoaday

There are many words that get thrown around our house these days.

Car – not to be confused with cars which is in reference to the movie and NOT the millions of tiny cars all over the floors.
Mamma – usually yelled at full volume while standing at the bottom of the stairs holding his blankey. It’s his loving way of checking in on me when he’s ‘lost’ me.
TeTe – his abbreviation for Christy, my sister.
Wawa – which is either in reference to actual water because he’s thirsty or the movie Finding Nemo. You can typically tell the difference based on the amount of whine he puts into it.
DaDa – I love it when he chatters on about ‘my dada’ as he puts it.

And then various others like uh-oh, owie, pees (please), pee pee, bye & hi, to name a few.

It’s pretty awesome to see the cogs in his little noggin turning. But holy moly is it frustrating to witness the stubbornness of all stubbornness’s. I’ll admit it, he gets it from me, I have a stubborn streak about a mile long. Which is also why I have a matching competitive streak. And to see my crazy stubborn come through on my sons face is pretty humbling. It just reminds me that we realized so little about how they learn and what they see. It reminds me to be kind and patient and all those things that I desperately want him to be. And to always be setting the example, even when I think no one is looking.

Adventure Land

It assures me that I have a pretty awesome road ahead of me. Full of learning and patience building, sporting events and teaching Quinn how to be a gracious loser or winner – did you see that episode of parenthood? – playing to his strengths and learning his weaknesses, and a plethora of other awesome experiences.

For now, I think we’re going to figure out talking. Maybe even branch into two word sentences? Maybe. And then, maybe potty training followed of course by the same thing we do every night, Pinky – Try to take over the world!
