the power of prayer

Yesterday was fast Sunday. That day set aside for selflessness, reflection and to share our testimonies with each other. After the Relief society message they generally leave us 10-ish minutes to bare our testimonies with just the sisters. This is typically where I will bare mine if I feel so inspired to. But yesterday… I must admit I chickened out. Or maybe I just didn’t want to stand up, because those padded chairs do kinda suck you in, but either way I’m now sad that I didn’t stand up and share my testimony.

So this is me, sharing it with you all now.

prayer

On prayer

I have a very strong testimony of prayer. Of it’s healing powers and of its ability to give you that little boost that we often times so desperately need. (I talk a bit about that power in this post.)

In general conversation I tend to call it JuJu, since that’s what the world at large believes it to be – A cluster of good emotions and feelings being channeled at a specific something. And for the most part they are synonymous.
I have some good friends who are trying to purchase an investment property. We will directly benefit from this purchase because we’re going to be their first renters. It helps us both out – they get awesome renters and we get put back into the area that we so desperately want to settle in. They are close, very close to pulling the trigger. And so I told them that I would send good JuJu their way. Her response: ‘keep doing it until the very end. From what I can tell that’s powerful stuff.’

And it is.
Prayer is very powerful. Positive thinking of any kind is very powerful.
I hope we can all take a few minutes out of our day to send some good JuJu toward those who need it. Whether you choose do that through the Lord or through your own devices. You never know who could really use it at that moment.
xoxo
