t.y.b.a. Simple wood splendor

I’m a bit of a sucker for wood floors, especially distressed wood floors. The older and more beat up it looks the more I LOVE it! You know, the kind that looks like it’s seen a dozen families raised on it, been skated, roller bladed and skateboarded on, had a million basketballs bounced on it, lamps fall on it, tables scraped across it and shoes scuffed all over it. And then, been sanded down and left raw and naked. That’s the kind of hardwood that I love.

So when I saw the add for the Foundary in this month’s Rue I just had to click on it. I didn’t even bother to read what it was about or who the add was for. It was the floor that drew me in.

I had a friend ask me on Monday what about this made me giddy and my response was;

It’s designy stuff. With Ruffles!

And in this case, hardwood floors. And what did I find once I clicked on this exceptionally splendid floor? This:

I had to laugh, VERY loudly! So loud in fact, that my boss came over to see what the heck was going on. oops! He’s a very cute pooch, but he’s no hardwood floor! I then jumped in with both feet, signed up and was delighted to find that the hardwood, and chairs and lamps and trunks and every other household item you can think of were inside. And even better, it was on sale! Hooray for unexpected excellent finds!

What took your breath away today?

(random side note: this line from Zoolander just popped into my head…. ‘The files are IN the computer!”)
