Put his blanket on an said 'brrrr'. #masterquinn #playtime

Quinn is sick. A little seasonal cold that started out sounding like hay fever and turned last night into a full-blown cold. Itchy throat, low-grade fever, super snugly baby. The snuggles are the best, and the clingy touchy moments.

Like last night while sitting on the sofa. He had to be directly next to me; with-in reach over and kiss me distance, with his arm securely locked around mine. The boy knows how to wrap his Mamma around his little finger.

This morning, after yet another restless night, this one full of water bottles, wardrobe changes due to over heating and just a nip of Tylenol to take the edge off, I woke up to a sore throat. I guess I felt it coming. Shoot, I guess I saw it coming – with my kitchen mishaps and the odd series of blunders this past weekend. The body knows even when the mind doesn’t.

I was at The Grands Westover’s house this past Sunday and was once again admiring their original Listerine news clipping. The one framed and placed oh so perfectly above the bathroom sink. Once upon a time they were allowed to claim that gargling Listerine every two hours would guard against sore throats. (hopefully just while you were feeling the sickness coming on. I can’t imagine having to do that every-single-second-hour.) That is until the FDA threatened to make them follow their crazy guidelines and they chose to simply stay an oral cleanser rather than the super product that they really are. (if you ever drop your retainer in anything icky just soak it in Listerine for a bit. It is an antiseptic after all. We’ve all been there, no?)

Thinking of this news clipping made me think of the Alameda Antiques Fair. I’ve never been, even though it’s been on my calendar and wish list for almost a year now. Funny how the things we know we’ll really enjoy get pushed further and further back on our to-do lists.

Other items on my to-do list:
1. Make this mobile. I bought the tutorial when we first found out we were pregnant. Because even then I ‘knew’ we would be having a girl.
2. Sew another skirt. I purchased enough material for three skirts that day, but have only gotten around to making one.
3. Work on my knitting. I have great aspirations – as with most things. I couldn’t choose to make just a scarf or something simple I had to choose a super complicated and adorable hat. Which is most likely why I haven’t fully tackled this one – Intimidation.

What’s on your to-do list these days?
