Yes, we’re still here. And yes, we are soooo sick of it. I keep having to remind myself that it’s where they need to be, it’s what they need right now. And soon, it will all be over and just a faint memory in the memory box.
I spoke with the doctor the other day about a possible go home date. She gave me the standard a few weeks answer which we’ve been getting for weeks and weeks now, so I asked her to get a little more specific for me. September 12th was my due date and that is now our go home date goal, because apparently getting out of here early isn’t in the cards.
Updates: Both Rhys and Avery are over 6 pounds. 6 pounds! I can’t believe it. They are just sucking up everything I have to offer. They’re both up to 60ml (2 oz) per feed and I am getting seriously worried about keeping up with these feedings when they do come home.
Rhys is down to 1 liter on a regular nasal cannula at 21%. Avery is on .5 liter at 23%. They tried to take her off of Oxygen and she lasted about 7 hours before needing that little something to help her out. They’ll try going off of Oxygen again sometime this week and see how she does.
Rhys was supposed to come out of Isolation on Sunday, but he still sounded a bit congested so they’re keeping in for a few more days, just to be sure. Better safe than sorry.
Quinn is his usual hyperactive two year old self. He has gotten a lot more clingy this past week. I blame myself… with all the unpacking craziness, the NICU visits and the day to day in-between we haven’t been able to spend as much one on one time together. He had a morning the other day where he kept asking me come sit with him, and I realized that I hadn’t just sat down with him in over a week. Needless to say we are having much more one on one time now, along with park dates because the weather is just so perfect right now.
