date night at the pizza parlor

We had quite the adventurous date night last night. It was poring down rain all afternoon and continued through the night. Eric got stuck at his temp job way too late, so I ended up going to meet him in Berkeley instead of the train station across from our street like originally planned.

We’ve both been battling colds for the past week. And we both basically lost the battle last night. By the time I picked him up from work I was exhausted and barely hungry thanks to a large lunch. And he was exhausted and starving. We basically looked like the walking dead. You know, the hot kind though, not the icky kind with skin hanging off their faces.

In typical fashion we didn’t have a plan, just a whole lot of rain, tiredness, achy bodies and a vehicle. So I chose a direction and kept an eye out for something that looked appetizing. I found this cute little pizzeria with a half flooded parking spot right in front that no one but me wanted and called it destiny.

Date night at the Pizza Parlor in Berkeley.
Side note: For a pizzeria I found it strange that they didn’t have pepperoni pizza.
Am I wrong? Is that weird or what?
We ordered the ‘Classico’ with Pancetta, Arugula, Cheese and maybe something else but I honestly can’t remember. On a scale of one to five this place was meh. I wouldn’t highly recommend it, I most likely will never go back. But for a rainy, sick, date night it was kinda perfect with it’s twinkle lights and soft ambiance.
Twinkle lights + rain = love
